Biography
Wayne is a member of St. John A.M.E. Church in the Morrisville Community. He serves in many capacities of his church. Wayne serves as Trustee Pro Tem for the past 18 years, Class Leader, Usher Board, Male Choir President, Renovations Committee, Helping Hand Committee and Lay Organization. He is an Advisor with the Young People Department, President of the Sons of Allen, Youth Ministry Teacher, and St. John’s Scholarship Committee. His civic duties in the community are being a part of the Men’s Privation Club, the Lewis Outreach Center, Nesmith & Morrisville Concern Citizens and being a mentor in mentoring program called G.I.F.T.E.D. He is also a member of the Williamsburg County Transportation Committee.
Wayne enjoys singing, emceeing programs, hunting, riding his motorcycle, cooking on the grill and living his life for the Lord. In 1989, he started his Masonic career and joined Cherokee Lodge #415 where he is a Past Master and Past Secretary. He also served as Special District and District Deputy for the 11th Masonic District, Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden and is currently serving as the Right Worshipful Senior Grand Warden for the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of South Carolina. Wayne is a member of Lily of the Valley Chapter #352 OES and serves as the Worthy Patron. He is also a member of Hemingway Chapter #20 of Holy Royal Arch Masons, Hiram Council #4 of Royal and Select Masters, Holmes and Geathers Commandery #16 of Knights Templar, and George Herriott Consistory #256, where he currently serves as Commander-in-Chief. In 2007, he received his Honorary Degree of a 33° Mason and a member Cresent Temple #148 of Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Wayne believes that leadership is not about title, tenure or position; it’s about impact, influence and inspiration. His favorite Bible verse says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
