Biography
He is a 1994 graduate of Walterboro High School in Walterboro, SC. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and his Master of Arts in Information Technology Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He has over 25 years of experience working in various information technology and classroom instruction roles. He is currently the Director of Information Technology for the South Carolina Department of Insurance as well as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of South Carolina.
Bro. Holmes is a member of First Nazareth Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. He is also a 31-year member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He was initiated into the Kappa Iota Chapter (USC – Columbia), and he is currently a member of the Beta Chi Sigma Alumni Chapter (Columbia, SC). He has served on various executive boards and committees during his years as a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Bro. Holmes is also a member of Starlight Chapter #346 – Order of the Eastern Star, Rahab Court #15 – Heroines of Jericho, and Winkfield-Mack Guild #4 – Heroines of the Temple Crusaders (Past Royal Advisor). He has served and chaired several 4th Masonic District committees and has been a recipient of the 4th Masonic District Master Mason of the year award, and the Leo Murphy, Jr. Community Service Award.
In 2022, at the 154th Grand Lodge Session, in Columbia, SC, Bro. Holmes was elected as the 12th Right Worshipful Grand Secretary of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of South Carolina. An honor in which he continues to serve with humility and dedication to the Brothers and Sisters of the Prince Hall family.
In his free time, Bro. Holmes enjoys spending time with his family, learning about different cultures, playing golf, fellowship with friends, and of course supporting his children as they travel across the country competing in Track and Field, Football and Basketball. While he is blessed to have a fulfilling and fruitful life, he lives by a specific bible verse that was instilled in him since he was a little boy: MATTHEW 6:33 – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.
